The British Expert Delivered A Training On Covert Investigative Actions to the Investigators
A two-day training on covert investigative actions was conducted for the investigators of the Investigative Department of the State Inspector’s Service. The training was led by Ray Summers, criminal investigation expert in the United Kingdom.
The training course covered important issues, such as surveillance, interception, interference in property rights, covert intelligence sources, undercover officers etc. In the frame of the program, the legislation and the practice of the United Kingdom and challenges existing in Georgian legislation in this regard were also discussed.
The training involved both theoretical issues and practical exercises that will enable the participants of the training to make better use of gained knowledge in everyday practice.
The issues discussed under the program will support the improvement of professional standards of the Service’s employees, as well as the quality of planning and conducting investigative actions. The training was delivered with the support of the EU project “Improving Quality of Prosecution and Criminal Investigation in Georgia”.
Supporting the enhancement of the employees’ qualification is one of the main priorities of the State Inspector’s Service and various activities in this respect will continue in the future.
