A Training on Professional Standards was Conducted for the Investigators of The State Inspector’s Service
The investigators of the Investigative Department of the State Inspector’s Service were trained on professional standards with the participation of the British expert.

The training aimed to share successful British practice regarding investigation of crimes committed by police officers. The issues discussed under the program will significantly contribute to improvement of professional standards of the employees, as well as the quality of planning and conducting investigative actions.

During the training, on the basis of the UK practice, topical issues such as the principles of police work, police misconduct, crime and sanctions as well as investigative approach and the role of the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) in investigating such crimes were discussed.

The training covered both theoretical and practical issues. All investigators of the State Inspector’s Service underwent a training course under the program.

The training was conducted with the support of the EU project “Improving Quality of Prosecution and Criminal Investigation in Georgia” and led by the British expert, Ray Summers.

With the assistance of partner organizations, the State Inspector’s Service will continue to actively share successful international practices and take care of increasing qualification of its employees.
